Fire helmet from the USA. The manufacturer of the leather helmet is Cairns & Brothers from Clifton NJ. The helmet type is "5A New Yorker". The helmet was produced in early 1950. For details of the helmet, see helmet 0331, USA. The red leather badge on the front of the helmet characterizes the membership to a ladder company, here the "Ladder 128". Below the number of the ladder is the personnel number of the fireman, here the "9000". The Ladder 128 Fire Station is located in the Queens district between the northern end of the Calvary Cemetery and the Long Island Expressway.
In addition to Ladder 128, the Engine Company 259 and Battalion 45 are also stationed in this station. The exact address is: 33-51 Greenpoint Avenue, Queens, 11101 New York, USA. Ladder Company 128 was originally founded on February 7, 1910, as Ladder 78. On January 1, 1913, she was renamed into Ladder 128.
