Solomon Islands Synthetic helmet (˜1996)
In this collection since: 24.04.2010
0349 Fire helmet of the Solomon Islands in the Pacific. The helmet is from the capital Honiara. The yellow helmet is made by the Bullard company, the model is from the Fire Dome series and it´s called PXAS. It is similar to helmet no. 226 but this helmet is called, however, FXE. The yellow helmet was produced in 1996 from thermoplastic aramid, he complies with the U.S. NFPA in 1971. In addition to the Manufacturer's note from the Bullard Company (here stands not the American NFPA but therefore the Australian Standard AS4067 is quoted) was also attached a sticker with a reference to the Australian Standard AS4067. This leads to the assumption that the helmet from Bullard USA already was built for the Australian market, used in Australia and later, was used on Samoa. The helmet is similar, in its external shape, to the helmets from Cairns or Morning Pride. He is provided with an edge protection and has a permanently mounted 4 "face visor. A neck protector cloth is mounted with Velcro. An internal shock absorption system ensures security. The head size can be adjusted by a knob between the sizes 6 ½ to 8. The helmet was manufactured in October 1996.
