In this collection since: 17.03.2010
0342 Fire helmet from Malta. The red and white polycarbonate helmet by the manufacturer Signal Division / Federal Signal Corporation was built as type Federal FH-2 in 1978. In the opposite to helmet 215, this helmet is better equipped. Signal Division has divided the types of helmets for innovations in series. (FH-2 Series A3) Which series was a part of this helmet is not known. The helmet was built to ANSI standard Z90.1a. He was worn in the Fire Services on the island of Malta around the years 1980. In the period around 1980, the fire department was a unit of the police (MPFB - Malta Police Fire Brigade). This continued until 2000, then the fire department was incorporated in the newly formed Civil Defence. (Dipartiment Tal-Protezzjoni Civili or Civil Protection Department)
The red helmet is making a very solid impression. The helmet bell, complete with a edge protection framed, recalls in its original form to the German helmets DIN 14940, the white eye shield, the neck- protektion and the visor is attached separately. These parts are made of polycarbonate. The neck protection can be attached by 5 buttons to the helmet. The inner helmet, are now significantly better than its predecessor. It consists of the headband (this is adjustable at the head sizes 6.5 to 7 3 / 4) the harness and a shock absorption pad, directly fixed in the helmet shell. The chin strap is made from polyester and still very complicated to open and close. On the rear side, the number 12 iin blue ist mounted.
