0299 Fire department helmet of the professional fire department Vancouver, Canada.
The helmet is from the company Bullard, the model from the Firedome series is called PX. He is similar like the helmet no. 242. The yellow helmet is produced from thermoplast Aramid, he corresponds to the American NFPA of 1971 in the edition of 1997. He resembles to the helmets from Morning Prides in his outer form or Cairns, is provided with an edge protection and has one 4" face visor. Yellowly reflective stickers circulatingly are appropriate, a kind of Frontshield is assembled in front. It consists of one velcro stuck on to the helmet, so the real signpost is easily removable. The white, reflective signpost bears the abbreviation of the fire department Vancouver "VFRS" Vancouver Fire and Rescue Service. A neck guard could be assembled with velcros. A blow absorption system in the helmet bowl gives safety. The head size could be cahnged from 6 ½ to 8 for itself by a knob. The helmet was produced in the April 1998. After the sticker inside the helmet, wearing the helmet is permitted only with the following safety equipments: Face visor, reflective stickers, neck guard, blow absorption system.
The helmet comes out of the main fire station 1, 900 Heatley Avenue, Vancouver BC. He was worn by a fireman there. The colors of the helmets indicate the ranks of the firemen. Firemen wear yellow, Officers like Captain or Lieutenant wear red, Higher officers like Battalion Chief, Division Chief, Assistant Chief or Deputy Chief wear white helmets.
Every fireman wear the front badge described above. It indicates the membership to a unity by his color and it is an important detail to assigning firemen at a large incident.
