| 0979 | Fire helmet from Portugal. The brass helmet was built around 1890 in Portugal. Its shape was inspired by the French fire helmet of the time. (See helmet 0541, France) The helmet comb is attached to the bell with rivets. At the front there is a big emblem. The helmet is usually completed by a chinchain that is only present in the area of the lateral cockades on this helmet. The helmet is still used in modified form for parades today.
