Fire helmet from Bophuthatswana, South Africa. Manufacturer of the helmet is the company Petitcolline from France. For more information see helmet number 0521, France. The helmet was worn in the period around 1980. At the front is the badge of the fire brigade with the following inscription: Bophuthatswana - National Fire and Emergency Service. Below the lettering Sun City. Bophuthatswana was a homeland within South Africa between 1977 and 1994. From the language "Setswana" comes the expression "Ipaakantse" which stands on the badge. In simplified terms, it means "finished" or "ready"
Sun City is a recreational area with hotel facilities, golf courses and casinos.
