Mali Synthetic helmet (˜1960)
In this collection since: 17.06.2017
0940 Fire helmet from Mali. The helmet was built by the French company Petitcollin Paris around 1960. For more information see helmets 0470 and 0748, France. On September 22, 1960, the former French-Sudan colony declared its independence under the new name Republic of Mali.
The fire department in Mali is a unit of government organized under the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection (Sécurité et de la Protection Civile). That would explain why the helmet was painted orange.
