Brass helmet (˜1895)
In this collection since: 28.03.2017 |

Fire helmet from France. The brass helmet is from the period of 1895. The team helmet was worn by the fire department of the city of Paris. The helmet follows the predecessor number 906 which is essentially the same. A striking difference is the attachment of the helmet crest. While the comb is attached to the predecessor with continuous rivets, the comb is here fastened with two screws from the inside. The inner helmet made of leather is well preserved. The special feature of this helmet is the badge on the front. The badge corresponds to the badges of this time, but has the coat of arms of the city Paris in the blazon instead of the usual grenade. On the banderole above the coat of arms is the name of the fire department "Sapeurs Pompiers de Paris". This designation is common in France with all fire departments. It is unusual for the city of Paris. It usually shows the motto of the city "Fluctuat nec mergiture".
