Jordan Synthetic helmet (˜1997)
In this collection since: 04.03.2017
0897 Fire helmet from Jordan. Manufacturer is the company Cairns & Brothers from the USA, the helmet type is called: RNN MK11. For more information about the helmet, see helmet 0405, Netherlands. The helmet was produced on 12.03.1997. As at helmet number 0868 from Lebanon, you can safely assume that the helmet was first used by the Dutch Navy for what it was specially built. When changing the helmet type at the Dutch Navy (about 2009), the helmet was retired and given to the fire departments in Jordan.
For more information about the helmet, see helmet number 0405, Netherlands.
The helmet includes a parade headgear. It consists of kufiya, agal and the emblem. The Kufiya is a 120 x 120cm woven cloth, the agal, a 120cm long drawstring that gives the cloth a better hold. On it is the same metal badge as attached to the helmet.

From Wikipedia: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordanien
Great Britain enforced the annexation of Jordan to the British mandate of Palestine at the conference of San Remo in 1920. In 1923, by separating the areas east of the Jordan, the emirate of Transjordan under British sovereignty with Abdallah ibn Husain as head of state. He was assisted by British General John Bagot Glubb.

From Analyse und Kritik: https://www.akweb.de/ak_s/ak616/10.htm
In the late 1940s, the Kufiya was also part of the official uniforms of the Jordanian army, which was led by British General Staff John Glut. The general decided to order the red-and-white cloth to the soldiers from East Jordan with complete arbitrariness, while he ordered those from West Jordan the black-and-white variant

The metal badge on helmet and agal shows a crown with two crossed sabers. It does not correspond to the coat of arms of Jordan but the coat of arms of the army.
The text on the badge is called: Civil Defense.
