Fire helmet from Afghanistan. The white polycarbonate helmet was built by MSA, USA. The helmet type is called Topgard. The helmet was built in 1979. The valid standard to this time was the ANSI Z89.1-1969. The helmet is adjustable to head sizes from 6 1/2 to 7 ¾ inches. The helmet was very common worldwide. At the front there is a metal badge. It is the state coat of arms from the period between 1980 and 1987. During this time, Afghanistan was occupied by the former Soviet Union. See also helmet number 0996, Afghanistan. |
