Fire helmet from the Chilean capital Santiago de Chile. The helmet is from the Fire division 1 (Primera Compañía Bomba Mapocho) For details of the helmet see helmet number 0318, Chile. The glass fiber helmet was first used as a normel helmet for emergencies from 1960 onwards. In the 1990s did helmets from other manufacturers find use and these helmets were used now for parade purposes. At the front the number 1 made of brass is attached. This is the number of the company. Beneath this is a brass sign with the inscription "Voluntario Honorario". The Voluntario Honorario is the "Honorary Director", a special executive of the first company. At present (2016) this is ALEJANDRO ARTIGAS MAC-LEAN who has held this position since 1989. To mark the degree of leadership, the helmet has a white helmet comb. The crew uses a black helmet, the company leader has a white helmet. (See helmet 0741, Chile). |
