Fire helmet from the USA. The helmet was used by the American armed forces in Germany at the US Air Base in Ramstein. Manufacturer of the helmet is the American company MSA, the helmet type is called Topgard. The black polycarbonate helmet was produced in 1967. The standard was at that time the ASA Z2.1 of 1959. For more information on the helmet see helmet 0403, USA. The helmets of the military bases in the USA and also Germany were equipped with a front plate. (See helmet 0705) Around 1965 the front plate was removed and only the letters "FD" were glued (see helmet 0711/0767). Later helmet generations, as from the year 2000 on, had no more badges. |
