Niger Synthetic helmet (˜1970)
In this collection since: 28.03.2015
0656 Firefighter helmet from the Niger. For details of the helmet, see helmet 470, France.
The helmet was built in France in the 1960s and it was fitted with one of the usual front panels of the fire departments from France. The hole under the current coat of arms has been created for this. Possibly, the helmet was given after the introduction of the new helmet generation (see helmet 0521, France) in 1970 into the now independent country Niger.
From Wikipedia: In 1921, Niger became a French colony. Niger became the autonomous republic in 1958, whose elected parliament was to give the country its own constitution. The country became independent in 1960.
