In this collection since: 29.01.2014
0568 Fire helmet from Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal. The helmet was in use at the Regimento Sapadores Bombeiros (RSB), the professional fire department of the city of Lisbon during the years between 1980 and 1999. The black polycarbonate helmet is designed in the typical American style with a long neck protection and integrated comb. The brim protects all rounds a black edge protection, rear is an eyelet for hanging the helmet. Side shots with approx 15mm knurled nuts keep a clear eye protection visor. At the front, the badge of the Lisbon Fire Department is glued. It is modeled like the insignia of the predecessor helmets (see helmet 266). Except for the few fire departments with their own badges, just wear almost any other fire departments a single badge that is distinguished by its coat of arms and possibly a motto. (See helmet 354). RSB firemen wear the helmet in black, the officer’s white. The voluntary fire brigades Firefighters wear the helmet in red, higher firefighters, such as firefighter’s 2nd and 1st Class, yellow helmets. White Helmets wear as Subchef officers and chief (commander). The helmet interior is fully lined with fabric. The helmet interior is reminiscent of a safety helmet. A neck cloth is not provided. Manufacturer of the helmet is the portuguese company Fardequipa. The helmet was replaced in 1999 by the introduction of the Rosenbauer Heros- helmets from Austria.
