Moldova Synthetic helmet (˜1980)

0555 Fire helmet from Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. The black fiberglass helmet was produced in the period around 1980. Manufacturer of the helmet is the Chinese company Nordiga from Beijing. The helmet type is called “Fire Master”. In Norway, this type of helmet was very common in the years between 1980 and 2000. (Helmet details see 172). There, he was in use, until he was given to Moldowa in 1992. The helmet was worn in the fire station 2 in Chisinau. In the urban area, there are 5 fire stations. In the Fire Station 2 are 35 firefighters, 9 Machinists and 4 dispatchers, making 4 shifts.
As an independent state, the Republic of Moldova exists since 1991, when the Moldavian Soviet republic declared her independence during the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Until then, the fire brigade equipment of the Soviet Union was used. In 1991 was the newly developed, Soviet helmet “KZ91” (see helmet 556) in use. After the founding of the new state, the equipment was still used. The fire brigade and civilian emergency organization of the Moldovan State was still supplied with the necessary materials. On the initiative of firefighter, other fire helmets were given to Moldova from other states. The fire station 2 has repainted this helmet and fixed on their emblems. The yellow number 2 is located at the backside. It is marking the station number. At the front, the coat of arms of the Moldovan civil protection is attached. In addition to some labels are on the side of the helmet also each 2 yellow stripes attached. They are the rank marking for a fireman. The officer rank begins with the "experts 4th grade". He wears 3 stripes on the helmet. The officer differs in 4 classes. Expert 3th grade, expert 2th grade, expert 1th grade and Chief.
