Brazil Leather helmet (˜1960)
In this collection since: 07.03.2013
0506 Fire helmet from Brazil. The white helmet corresponds to helmet number 68. However, this helmet is the version that was made only for officers. The leather helmet was worn in the period around 1960 in Rio de Janeiro. The basic form is equal to the helmet of the lower ranks. The comb, made of nickel silver, is based on the French brass helmets of 1870 that were in Brazil until the years 1920 in use. The front shield is underlaid with a flame emblem. An embossed sheet metal shed chain illustrates the rank of an officer. The chin strap is made of white leather, on the inner helmet there are no changes compared with the helmets of the lower ranks. Manufacturer is also the Brazilian company "Trindade Nelson" from Rio de Janeiro.
