Madagascar Synthetic helmet (˜1983)

0430 Fire helmet from Madagascar. The dark blue plastic helmet is similar in shape to the helmet of the U.S. armed forces. The helmet was made in 1983. Manufacturer is the company Levior - J. Menten & Co - PVBA - 3700 Tongeren, Belgium. The Polycarbotathelm is equipped inside with a thick foam layer. For fixing of head rest and chin strap it is interrupted. On the front is a small brass badges showing a star with crossed axes. In what city and in what time this helmet was worn, is not known. Since Madagascar is a member of the French Community, today (2012) clothing and helmets are worn according to the French model. In Antananarivo (capital of Madagascar) at the time the Gallet F1 is worn.
