Austria Synthetic helmet (˜1970)
In this collection since: 04.02.2012
0417 Fire Helmet from Austria. The helmet is made of fiberglass. Inside raw, here is the mixture of resin and glass fiber clearly visible. Exterior the helmet is smooth and painted gray. The helmet was made in early 1970 when it was undertaken to replace the previously standard aluminum helmets against plastic helmets. The outer shape of the helmet was completely taken over here. The helmet was made according to ÖNORM F 4035 (the norm of Austria). In the backside, a mark is embedded into the material, it is written: "NORM F4035 geprüft." (Standard tested). The manufacturer of the helmet is not known. In the middle of the 1970s, the helmet was developed further and the successor was produced (see helmet 93). This one was made from polycarbonate. The helmet has a simple interior wich is adjustable in size. On one of the tabs stands "S63 Gr. ½". To obtain the electrical insulation, the conventional metal emblem was replaced against a sticker. The badge shows the coat of arms of Oberösterreich.
