Poland Synthetic helmet (˜1989)

0415 Fire helmet from Poland. The helmet was manufactured by the company KZPT. The type PH-3/Z-88 is one of the first helmets of the new generation. The red helmet, made of fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin was produced 1989. It corresponds to the Polish Standard for Fire Helmets PN-88/M-51505 and is approved for use for fire fighting with number 99/88 from 27th October 1988.
The helmet, in the classic form of American fire helmets, has a simple inner helmet made of plastic, covered with leather at the front, rear adjustable from 54-62 cm. The chin strap made of nylon has a simple adjustment. A neck protector could be attached to the inside Velcro fasteners. Outside on the helmet, 5 reflective stripes ar fastened, on the front is a metal bracket for mounting a lamp, on the rear is installed a plastic attachment for the cable of the lamp.
The helmet has no visor to protect the eyes, but this could be attached. The helmet was produced in three colors:
red for the commander of the professional Fire Department, white for firefighters and gray for the members of the volunteer fire departments. Indeed, usually only the first two colors were ordered.
The helmet is with 990 grams heavier and obviously larger than helmet number 418.
