Fire helmet from the Indian capital New Delhi.
The helmet is from the headquarters of the Fire Service New Delhi at Connaught Place.
The black helmet, made of polycarbonate, is an Indian production. The type is called: FRP NI 174. He is strongly based on the former British models of Merryweather and Henry. The helmet meets the Indian Standard IS 2745. It was produced in 1970 and worn at the Fire Department New Delhi until it was replaced in 2000 by modern helmet generations. At the front of the helmet is the badge of the Fire Department New Delhi (DFS - Delhi Fire Service), around the helmet is marked with a yellow band, the significance of this is unknown. Inside, the helmet is lined with a layer of foam, the headband is not adjustable in size. Between the helmet bell and the headband, there is a shock absorption material appropriate. The chin strap, made of nylon, can be adjusted by a metal tab in length and closed.
