Japan Synthetic helmet (˜1980)

0329 Firefighters helmet from the Japanese capital Tokyo. The white plastic helmet is used by the units of the rescue, technical help and water rescue unit. The lightweight helmet has a fairly rough surface. Inside the helmet is heavily padded. Besides Styrofoam at the top is round on a headband foamed distance appropriate location. The chin strap made of nylon fabric has only two eyes to close. The inner helmet is fastened with a cord to the helmet bell. Outside, the cord is covered with adhesive tape. Next, the helmet has a rotating, red, reflective strips and on front of a star, the identification of the rank of firefighters. On the side, the characters in Japanese language means: Tokyo Fire Department. Inside the helmet there are different manufacturer markings in Japanese characters.
The helmet is approved according to the Japanese Standard JIS T8133 of 1970. The helmet was produced in Japan, the manufacturer, however, is unknown.
The TFD (Tokyo Fire Department) has 80 fire stations with nearly 18,000 members.
