Romania Synthetic helmet (˜1990)
In this collection since: 06.08.2007
0301 Romanian fire department helmet. The green helmet made of glass fiber reinforced synthetic material is painted only on the outside. The structure can be recognized inside below a varnish layer. The helmet resembles to the Japanese helmets see number 103 in his form. A mount is attached for a light at the front, rear the closeable Synthetic eye for the cable. An eye protection visor is appropriate at the side by metal latches. The visor from approx. 3 mm thick Plexiglass is prolonged by a plastic film below. The neck guard is made of the same, simple tarpaulin material, the inside helmet for the helmet age however relatively robust. The thick brow band offered a soft wearing comfort. The helmet is from the Romanian city of Sibieu, early called Hermannstadt. The helmets were worn so from approx. 1960 to 1990. The German helmets DIN 14940 are used today. There aren't any professional fire departments in Romania. While voluntary fire departments are prevailing in the rural room (the firemen wear red helmets here), is the fire protection in the towns made by professional units of the armed forces. The helmets are green in the armed forces. The fire department helmets are passed on within the armed forces from soldier to soldier. After 12 months the time for a soldier ended. Officers are professional soldiers.
This helmet all in all is in an excellent state.
