0278 Fire helmet of the work fire department of the VW Factory, Port- Elizabeth, South Africa. The red helmet consists of glass fiber, his surface is smoothed. The strucktur is considerably visible inside. The form of the helmet is based on the American helmets, however, the helmet is very short in his form. The edge is protected with a thin rubber edging. The inside helmet is made of fabric. A circulating substance tape is fastened to the helmet bell with 6 blanks to the fastening the inside helmet at the helmet bell. The real inside helmet, also made of fabrice, is fastened to this tape with broader brackets. The inside helmet is altered by a wire clip. Behind a neck guard is appropriate, this are attached by a velcro directly at the helmet bell. The chinstrap made of nylon is very broad. The fastening of the chinstrap at the helmet bell is screwed on inside at the helmet and serves the fastening of the visor on the outside simultaneously. The chinstrap starts with an approx. 80 mm long leather, two pushbuttons on one site make it possible, to close the chinstrap or change the length. The visor is stated by two knurled screws, the plexiglas part is on-riveted at an aluminum hanger. Silver stickers at the side and behind are appropriate. This one do not reflecting the light, but breaking the light by her optics to different colors. Inside the helmet a sticker indicates that the helmet is to use at most 5 years. Various safety and use rules are broader quotedly. The manufacturer or the helmet type isn't well-known. See also helmet 280.
