Netherlands Synthetic helmet (˜1986)
In this collection since: 12.09.2006
0272 Fire helmet from Holland. The white helmet was produced by Cromwell (Helmets Limited) England as a type Firepro 2 in April 1986. The helmet looks in his outer form like the traditional English cork helmets. Comb and neck guard are minted, however, no longer in such a way. The helmet is produced from glass fiber, white on the outside coatedly, inside green. A circulating edge protection made of rubber protects the sensitive edge. The inside helmet made of synthetic material is obtained with leather. He is adjustable for head sizes of 58 -62 cm. The inside helmet is fastened with screws at the helmet bell from inside. The screws don't go through to the outside. The chinstrap made of leather is very broad. The strap is closed with a velcro. The typical Dutchman cloth is appropriate between inside helmet and helmet bell. No metal objects can be seen at the helmet on the outside, the badge of the Dutch fire departments is stuck on of synthetic material. The helmet is successor of the helmet no.:90 which was no longer authorized at 1986, due to the electrically leading metal parts. Every fireman to fire chiefs traditionally wore a black helmet. The higher officers white one. White helmets, however, are visible better, almost all helmets are white in Holland in the meantime there. Some fire departments have kept the color system, however. The rearrangement to persistent helmet colors starts at the moment (2005).
