Israel Synthetic helmet (˜1990)
In this collection since: 01.04.2006
0260 Fire helmet from Israel. The helmet was produced by the company Ritukh, Israel. The helmet typ is Mygoon. The yellow synthetic material helmet is from the Israeli city of Dolev.
Dolev lies near the capital city Jerusalem and have a voluntary fire department.
This helmet is worn in Israel at many fire departments.
The outer form of the helmet is incomparable. The helmet a little looks like the Italian helmets of Mispa (see helmets 165 and 168). The yellow Polycarbonat of the helmet bell is only 1.2 mm thick, the front and sides of the helmet fall steeply. The inside helmet is very miserable, he is connected to the helmet bell by synthetic material blanks. The chinstrap made of synthetic material is fastened separately. He must be closed by a velcro. No references to manufacturer or age of the helmet can be found at the helmet. A sticker is appropriate at the front. It shows three falling bombs in a laurel wreath, a marking is in Israeli document under this. The marking means "Haga" (Home front Command/HFC). The Haga was introduced by Mordechai Maklef under the name "defense service against unrest" in May 1948. She is comparable with the German civil defense or organizations as Protection Civil in France. The Haga was introduced, after Tel Aviv was heavily bombarded by the Egyptian air force what caused a large number of victims, deaths and injuries as well as the destruction of many buildings. In the year 1951 a law was made in the Knesset (Israeli government), that the legal position of Haga defined. Today, this law defines the work of the Haga like this: "The Haga must take up all measures, to protect the population from attack by hostile forces, or the results of such an attack with the accent on saving lives reduce."
