Bulgaria Synthetic helmet (˜1990)
In this collection since: 05.10.2004
0211 Bulgarian fire helmet. The yellow fire department helmet made of synthetic material shows no marking or one stamp, wich suggest his age or his origin. Despite the synthetic material no examining watch (expiration date) is placed on. Helmets made of plastic were introduced in Bulgaria in the period around 1990. They are the successors of the Almuminium helmet in the same form. (see Helm 553). The helmet resembles to the Turkish helmets number 30 and 115 in his form. The quite low and narrow comb has well more symbol effect than use. Three 25 mm of broad cotton ribbons serve as a inside helmet, the adjustable brow band made of synthetic material is comparable with a work helmet. Despite the one riveted neck leather the general impression of the helmet doesn't get beyond the classification as a work safety helmet. A kind of belt buckle one each side is attached on the outside. A visor could be fastened there. The badge of the Bulgarian state is resplendent at the front.
