Cuba Synthetic helmet (˜1983)
In this collection since: 14.11.2003
0184 Cuban fire helmet of the professional fire department of the capital city Havana. Manufacturer of the helmet is the American company MSA ( Mine Safety Appliances Company, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA) or MSA Espanola S.A. The model isn't known. It has to be suspected that MSA produces helmets in concession in Spain and delivers these also to Cuba or Cuba has got old helmets as a help project of the organization "Bomberos Sin Fronteras." The red Polycarbonathelm is made in the typical American form with long neck guard and cockscomb trained. A black edge protection protects the brim circulatingly. Lateral holders with approx. 2 cm big knurled nuts keep a clear eye protection visor which one is also edged with a black edge protection material. The inside helmet reminds of a work helmet, a neck cloth is attached at the circulating, very high (approx. 50 mm) Sweatband. Behind is in the helmet poured centrically: "MSA- Fire-Cap ", on the left notes of the department for work (Helmet save, there is no metal, resistance against pollution and temperature), on the right the age (1983). The number 0305-4. stands on the neck guard cloth. The helmet is generally as helmet no. 133. He is different only by the visor. A sticker of the Cuban flag was stuck on behind.
Question: Is there a Cuban helmet manufacturer?
