China Cork helmet (˜1979)
In this collection since: 09.02.2004
0181 Fire helmet from the " Fire service -- Hong Kong " from the English crown colony in China. The helmet was used at a fire station in the area Kowloon and to be more precise in the Fire services Department, Kowloon region, 1 On Shan Lane, Ma On Shan, New Territories. The helmet 1979 was produced. This shows the stamp at the inner backside. Inside green synthetic material, on the outside cork with a whitely lacquered canvas covered. The high helmet form and the comb are part of the security concept. The cork helmet (cork with resin under a high pressure and with a synthetic material, early cords, covered) has a very strong tradition in England. The type: Cromwell, model: County. Manufacturer is a English Helmets Ltd. The owner is in the officer rank of the "Assistant Divisional Officer", because the white helmet with one black stripe. The emblem of brass from the Fire service is at the front. The emblem is edged with tendrils, about this a crown is represented greatly. The badges are usually stickers as in the case of the helmet no.: 117. The helmet therefore is in an interesting way because the colony Hong-Kong has given back to China 1999 England and the helmets are probably obtained after a Chinese sample in future.
