Denmark Metal helmet (˜1934)
In this collection since: 11.01.2004
0175 Danish Fire helmet made from a German fire helmet after the armed forces steel helmet M1934 however with a sharp-egded approach of the neck guard, this one was dictated with order of 4-26-1934 as a fire safety helmet. The helmet being from Germany was painted black. Stamps cannot be recognized any more. The way of fastening of the inside helmet with screws wich have two little holes each, is interesting, The neck leather is buttoned to leather "knots". The comb isn't made of aluminum as otherwise usual but made of brass or copper. The approx. 80 mm broad, oval symbol at the front also is made of brass or copper. It shows a fire department helmet, crossed behind this an ax and a beam pipe.
Some villages have had their own badge.
At the side there are cockades attached, wich look like the cockades of the German Spot hoods.
The red-silver-red cockade represents the country of Denmark. Left, there was no cockade worn. The helmet has been worn in Denmark around 1970. These helmets were replaced mid-1980s through the MuskOx helmet.
