Italy Synthetic helmet (˜1990)
In this collection since: 22.05.2003
0168 Helmet of the Italian professional fire department city of Verona. Commander is currently (2003) Ingegnere Guido Sommella. The Verona Fire Station has three other branch offices: Legnago in the south, Bardolino in the north and the airport of Verona.
The manufacturer of the black helmet is the company La Lombarda Antinfortunistica. She merged in 1991 with the company Sureco to the famous Italian helmet manufacturer Sicor SpA.
The helmet from phenolic resin was made in 1996. The company Sicor designates this helmet today as type VF1.
The inside helmet is twofold. Near the Bell helmets are plastic strips that are plugged into an external ring, that ring is fixed on the helmet bell. On one of the strips is the helmet size: size III, 59, and the production year 1996. In another string the manufacturers name.
The helmet in this form is already 55 years old. This form of coarse fiberglass, smooth exterior, however, is the current active, or even final form. Currently (2003), they change the generation of helmets.
In the opposit of helmet no.: 167, the significantly larger emblem is made of plastic, the number of guards is the 91st. It ist he number fort he city of Verona. But the number is now replaced by the uniform cross. Encircling the helmet has an approximately 30mm wide, yellow ribbon, on this it is glued an approximately 12mm wide, silver reflective tape. The inside helmet is glued to the helmet bell! The banding is made of nylon straps, which are closed with Velcro. All in all, the helmet seems to have been not often worn. The former firefighter who wore this helmet, is Consolati. He has been immortalized on the inside back neck screen.
