Mexico Synthetic helmet (˜1970)
In this collection since: 15.01.2003
0150 Mexican officer helmet of the professional fire department Mexico-city. Interesting helmet from glass fiber. The helmet looks, as if one had lined a helmet negative form with glass fiber and then smoothed this with synthetic material spatula inside. In some places the helmet looks like modeled and suggests a single item or work done by hand. The helmet is comparably as the old, English helmets, model Henry in the form. The helmet is from the professional fire department of Mexico city. These helmets were produced in Mexico city and were bought from approx. 1970 to 1995 from the professional fire departments. Now U.S. helmets were only bought. Black helmets are for the team, white helmets are worn by the officers. The helmets of this type are applied fully, every fireman doesn't have his own helmet either, unless with the few officers. Since there is an aversion primarily with the officers against Americans and also American products, are the helmets also resold by officers going in pension to the young colleagues. The inside helmet isn't adjustable, he consists of an upholstered headband with a head plate also upholstered, this one is stuck up on the helmet bell completely. The chinstrap made of nylon has a modern chin-guard and is fastened at the side with two blanks each. The golden badge of the town can be seen at the front. The almost 10 cm high comb also serves as a ventilating over a hole at the front. A lovely, very well and sure rakes rare piece all in all. The badge must be very old, the short-term badge looks different. I don't have found any badge on the Internet that is same as this. Of the badges of the different stations there is no-one like this. The professional fire brigade Mexico city consists of a main firestation and another 9 stations.
Question: To whom can the badge be assigned?
