Metal helmet (˜1936)

Swiss fire helmet of the professional fire department Basel made of sheet iron. 1936. The helmet is black on the outside painted, inside green. The helmet has circulatingly a red lacquered stripe on the outside. The helmet form (Tesiner form?) is about at 1930, therefore a pre-war model. The form is considerably different from the follow-up helmets. The eye shield isn't pulled up so far, the transition to the neck shield is very soft. The comb is indicated easily. The inside helmet doesn't have the usual execution yet but it is made as in the German helmets. The chinstrap seal is already like the models at 1950 -- 1970. |
